Your workstation in class. Your full setup at home.

The College Portable Computing Setup is designed for students who want one primary computer that can move between lectures, labs, the library, internships, and home without giving up the comfort and capability of a full desk workstation.

At the center is the Lenovo ThinkPad P16v Gen 3 16-inch mobile workstation. It can be configured with Intel Core Ultra processors, NVIDIA RTX PRO graphics, substantial DDR5 memory, and fast NVMe storage, making the platform a strong fit for demanding school workloads such as engineering and CAD applications, programming, data work, content creation, business productivity, research, and multitasking. Because the exact ThinkPad configuration is selected to match the student's workload and budget, this setup is offered as Built to order.

Back at the dorm, apartment, or home office, the laptop becomes the center of a more comfortable desktop environment. The included ASUS TUF 24.5-inch high-refresh display adds a dedicated external screen for schoolwork and gaming, while the VIVO electric standing desk and dual-monitor arm create an adjustable workspace with room to add a second monitor later.

The Cherry MX 10.0N mechanical keyboard and Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite mouse provide full-size desktop controls when the laptop is docked at the desk. An Anker 7-in-1 USB-C hub adds HDMI, USB, card-reader, and power-delivery connectivity, while the Anker HDMI 2.1 cable completes the external-display connection.

Why it works for college

  • Portable where it matters: take the ThinkPad to class, study sessions, labs, meetings, and internships while leaving the desk setup ready at home.
  • One computer, two modes: use the laptop by itself on campus, then connect it to a larger monitor, keyboard, mouse, and accessories at the desk.
  • Built for serious coursework: configurable workstation-class CPU, GPU, memory, and storage options allow the system to be matched to the student's major and software requirements.
  • Study and play: the external ASUS TUF display supports a high-refresh gaming experience after coursework is done.
  • Upgrade-friendly workspace: the dual-monitor arm leaves room for a future second display, while the laptop's configurable memory and storage options allow the system to scale with changing needs.
  • Cleaner dorm setup: one USB-C hub consolidates common desk accessories and display connectivity instead of requiring several separate adapters.

Engineering, computer science, architecture/CAD, digital media, business and analytics, STEM coursework, students who game on the same computer they use for school, and anyone who wants a single high-performance laptop to serve as both a campus computer and a primary desk workstation.
